The American dream is considered to be owning your own home, having a car or two in the driveway, having a good paying job and a family.
The American nightmare is not affording gas, food, spending your pay check even before it comes, making sure one bill is paid by not paying another. Not even affording health insurance. And so it continues.
Either you are living the your American dream or living in the American nightmare. Inevitably it is up to us to create and determine our own American dream. It is up to us to redefine what the American dream is and live by standards that we can afford and accept.
I believe that redefining our American dream is the key to our happiness and sanity. What is yours? Or when do you determine to wake up from the American nightmare and find your sanity and happiness?
